Deferred members

There were 350 deferred members at the last scheme year-end.

As a deferred member, the retirement pension you earned during your (pensionable) service with the sponsoring employer, was calculated at the date you left (pensionable) service, and its commencement is deferred until your retirement.

At the time of leaving, you will have received a "Statement of Deferred Benefits" setting out your deferred entitlement. These deferred benefits will remain in the scheme unless you choose to transfer them out to another pension scheme - for more details see Transferring your benefits.
